I have a swc 120 and love it. It produces a lot of nasty skim mate, its silent, easy to clean and adjustable.
You can't go wrong with a SWC cone.

SWC 160 cone skimmer user here, good skimmer for the price. Skims good and is really quiet, much quieter than the Euro-Reef RS80 I was using.

To keep in context, I do work for a distributor.

I've tested most of their skimmers and love them all. The cones that run the sicce pump are a little bit loud but the smaller atman powered ones are nearly dead silent if you keep them clean.

I have a 160 cone. It is an awesome Skimmer. Dead silent and pulls the funk. For the money, you can't beat it.

I have an SWC 180. It does serious work. About two months after installing it I notice the bottom plate cracked slightly. Perhaps I overtightened it but I was a bit miffed. Still works great so I haven't replaced the bottom plate. If that plate were just a few mm thicker it would be very difficult to crack it.

Another 120 cone user. The 120s do come with the atman pumps and IME are nearly dead silent. Mine skims great and as mentioned can be completely (and easily) taken apart to thoroughly clean.

Mine came with the air adjustment
But of a savings of 150-200 I'll do with out the silencer and I'm sure most would too.

    But to the O P

I have a SWC 160 cone. The Atman 2500 pump in it is really quiet. I used to have a Deltec MC600 and the SWC is a lot quieter, generates more skimmate, and is half the price.

The downside IMO is taking it apart. While it's easy to do, it's still a pain in the butt and SWC recommends cleaning it monthly (I find every 2 months is more than sufficient, but this probably depends on the aquariums bioload). For in-sump skimmers, I think I prefer ones with the pump outside of the skimmer body. For that reason alone I'll go with a Vertex IN skimmer next, even though I will be sacrificing a lot of room in my sump. The SWC 160 has a very small foot print.

Some people have had trouble with the Atman 2500 not starting/breaking down after a few months. I haven't had this problem and I've owned the skimmer for 6 months.
