My swc skimmer has been in the sump for a little over a week now, I'm having a problem figuring out where the water level needs to be? At the bottom of the collection cup, or halfway up? I'm new to in sump skimmers. Its sitting in 8inches of water and is producing really small bubbles in the base. It might not be broke in or just did last night causing an overflow in the collection cup. Any help would be appreciated

I've found that they generally run very well if the top of the fine bubbles sits right at the point where the quick release collection cup meats the body. Run it there until it starts producing then adjust it to get the skimmate you are looking for.

i'm running a 160 cone and have mine submersed in 9 inches and I let my bubbles in the middle neck of the collection cup...
I prefer dry skimming I like the fact of the dark black muck the skimmer gets...
