Well, it is that time to replace the meshwheel impeller on my skimmer. The bubbles are still frothy, but I hear the impeller shaking and the skimmer vibrates more than usual. I have read that the lifespan of a meshwheel is about 8 months. I purchased my skimmer in march, so I think that is the issue. I really want to switch to a needlewheel instead of a meshwheel, but cannot find one for the Atman 2500 anywhere. The only place that has the meshwheel in the US is shop.reeffiltration.com . I figure I will buy the extra large collection cup as well.

    Time for the question...

I cannot afford the impellor and cup right now, but will be in a few weeks. I want to double check that as long as the skimmer is foaming it will still do something. I believe it will, but want to double check. Also, does anyone know where I can get a needlewheel for the Atman 2500?

I bought a meshwheel for my NAC6 from TB Aquatics for $10. Same pump is it?

Thanks for the link. I just did some reading on how the Atman 2500 is not powerfull enough for a needlewheel. However, the bubble magus uses this pump and they have the needle wheel for it. Hmmmm....

I notice that swcskimmers.com is selling a modified PSK 2500 that comes with both wheels. I may buy that pump just because Sicce is a more reputable company than Atman.

Exact same pump. For the price of $10 as opposed to the $30 for the entire impeller, I will be buying it from TB aquatics. Next step is to find a how to video for replacing it.
