lookin good... love the black sand look! get some bright ricordea, zoanthids or plate coral (when you're ready) down by that black for contrast and you'd be amazed on how much pop to the color it adds!

anyway, yeah, I'd heavily recommend an upgrade on that skimmer. I've had a SeaClone so I can say from experience, they're next to worthless. I'm currently on a CPR Backpak, which it is even undersized, but still leaps and bounds better. In the coming months I'm upgrading to an Octopus NW-150 which can be found for $170-$190'ish... and it's basically a knock off of the EuroReef design so you're getting a high performance skimmer for way less. ASM G1X would be another comparable option. In the meantime if you have the initiative to search around, I think there are mods you can do to SeaClones to help them out. Not life or death, but you'll notice much better performance with a new one.

And another Koralia would certainly not hurt, but the skimmer upgrade should be higher on the list. Just my 2 cents, good luck :)

How long has the tank been running, looks pretty new? I really like the black sand gives it a different look. Nice tank

Yeah as far as the Seaclone, I'm really not impressed but was looking into either a remora or Reef Octopus BH-100F HOB skimmer. Thanks for the suggestions ill check them out. And fisho - the tank is about 3 months old

oops my mistake... I didn't consider you're dealing with HOB skimmers. Not familiar with Octopus' HOB line (although they're probably good) and Remora's are supposed to be really good too.
