Leopard sharks are illegal in California, unless of legal catchable size. In fact, all leopard sharks are illagal in our trade as they are all smuggled out of California. Most come from the SF Bay. The smuggler has been caught many times, but he still continues. They get shipped to the east coast and resold to the west. It's matter of CA F&G not really wanting to do their job. If I was them, I'd troll all wholesale stock reports as a bogus buyer. They could nail most illegals in our trade that way. Geez, just drop by whosalers once in a while at least. being 100% legal myself, I encourage them to do so. Let the honest people survive, and nail the bastards.

Hmmm I agree with you gresh. It's the few greedy bastards that ruin it for everybody.

As for sharks... I love 'm. All shapes and sizes too. From the very common bottom dwelling Bambo sharks they sell still in eggs. To a 3 foot Mako shark in my friends 1000 gal in Miami.

However, I've come to understand that their best place is in the ocean. As for setting up an inground swimming pool as a reef tank. Think of adding supplements to a tank that size. For the price of that you might as well move to a house on the beach, buy a boat, and go buy yourself a reef and enjoy them there.

    ;D
