WHO has moved the swine flu to level 6- pandemic- which means its spread is immenent and that it will be passed around the globe like any other natural influenza. This means they have given up on containment.

However, as you said, if you do have a history of respiratory illness- I would take some special precautions. Be sure to hand wash, hand wash, hand wash! ;) And don't be afraid to wear a mask when out in public if it's well known to be in your area. Most of our leukemic patients wear one when out in public when there's NOT swine flu. I don't mean to scare you- but H1N1 has been well documented to be severely serious in people with prior respiratory illness.

Only thing that has changed is people are on informational over load these days. Asian flu in the late 50's killed hundreds of thousands and then the Hong Kong flu in the late 60's killed like 100,000 world wide then the old swine flu killed damn near as many . People come people go 2 of my what would have been uncles died in 1917 from that flu what ever it was called then ?
I bet auto's and muggers will kill more then any flu will.

we have had a 1st local case in ipswich which is 5 miles from us. A teacher at a private high school had it so they shut the school down.
As i said before a simple cold puts me & my 15 month old in hospital so im gutted!People keep saying it natures way of ridding the world off the weak & sick but i class myself as very fit & healthy but just have bad allerges & astmas! my mum & dad are very nevous as they wont even talk to me about it..............i can remember my dad rushing to my side crying as i was gasping to breath its really not to good.
I think its ok to make light off the situation if you have no health problems..............one good thing thou last time i got the flue & was in intensive care it turned into phnemonia but Me & my daughter have both had the jab so i take it that means we cant get it?
    K:cry2:

Is it just me, or did 95% of media coverage on H1N1 come to a sudden hault (a month ago-ish). Its almost like there is some sort of Big Brother character that's twisting the media's arm so everyone won't panic. Just a thought. . .

If true thank god. In most "emergency" situations blind stupid panic cause more damage then the actual event.
