Ever since I switched to my new T5 setup from my old compact florescent fixture it seems to have also been at the same time as a Cyano outbreak. Are my new lights too powerful? Do I have them on too long? I run 2 bulbs(aqua blue & blue +) from about 8:30AM, then at around 10:30 the other 2 bulbs(10,000 daylight & blue antic) come on too. The second 2 turn off around 5:00PM and the first 2 go off at 8:30PM. 4 moon leds come on till 10:00PM. Is this too much? AND YES, I use RO/DI water, have reduced my feedings, etc...

I run a 10 hour light period with mine. Blues for 10 hours and whites for 8 concurrent with the blues.

14 hours is way to long for a new additional light. Your gonna have to give your tank, water, bacteriam everthing time to adjust when adding new lighting. Think about start at like 6 or 8 total hours & then working your way up from there.

Yea, I didn't really think about I guess. I just enjoyed looking at all lit up all the time! Little did I realize I was promoting bad stuff. I will dial it back a bit and work my way up from there.
