I use CaribSea Live Argonite Sand (original grade). It's not really TRUE live sand, that's just the name on the package. I'd go for around 1 pound per gallon (I used 40 lbs in my 38 gallon tank) as that gives you about 1 - 1 1/4 inch sand depth. Anything deeper is asking for trouble (IMO).

Hey everyone just letting ya all no that we are currently in the process of changing out the cc for the sand.. We are adding the sand slowly but we are finding that no matter how slow or fast we go the water is still muggy.. We got about 3/5 of the cc out and we did it by sucking it out with a hose so it does not let out the ditraites as bad anyways.. We hope at least.. I will post a pic up tomorrow.. of the before the start of the change to what we have now.. I only have one q.. How long should we wait to do the next section..? We heard that 2 weeks would be good... Is that ok..
