see i have a marineland LED fixture on my 19g.......couldnt even grow mushrooms in there with it on. The mushrooms were stretching out to get the light. Even the zoas stretched out.

But I do LOVE the looks of it. That is what is so great in this hobby.......everyone has their own tastes and preferences and what works for them!

    marineland has a few fixtures

the single bright double bright and reef capable. none of these are very nice lights even the reef capable one is only capable of softies and a few lps. you must look into a better fixture if you want to see why everyone else is in love with led's.

lol, please don't judge led's by those, the new taotronics smoke those out of the water, led's have made leaps and bounds. Check out the light intensity in inertiacs thread, hard to do that with anything else;) But you're right, to each their own.

have you ever put a frag from a LED fixture to a MH fixture? they seem to look browned out. i myself have the AI SOL NANO that alot WAS bragging about. and i do not like it at all. thats why im going back to t5. yes they cost a bit more but you can actually see your corals the way they were ment to be seen!

Don't sweat it, dude. Some people are a bit 'passionate' about their new technology. Bottom line is, it's your tank- you don't need anyone's approval. If you prefer T5 over LED (as I and many others do), by all means switch back to T5. :)

lols anyways, so i was thinking of using all ATI bulbs. since they give the most spectrum (thats what i have read, tell me if im wrong )

    2 aquablue special
    1 coral plus
    1 blue plus

would this give me around a 15k look?

I think you will find it closer to 12000K.

I suggest 2 Coral Plus and 2 Blue Plus. Alternate the bulbs starting with the Coral Plus.
