Switching Salts?

    I was wondering if I slowly started to switch salt, with every weeks water change if eventually compeltely switching over would be okay? The LPS guy told me that it would start a completely new cycle and such, I want to switch to a instant ocean salt with calcium in it from an instant ocean without! What do you all think? Its not a HUGE deal, I think it would just be easier to stabilize calcium in my tank (10g)

    i switched from IO to red sea coral pro. its simple. i just implement 7g of new salt water with my water changes bi-monthly. it will eventually be completely switched, but no rush.

    it works great for me and my tank thrives with the elevated that my new salt offers.

    no new cycle or anything like that.

    it's easy as pie

    I used LFS water for a while then i switched to making my own Reef Crystals..

    I did not do it slowly, i just started doing my water changes with.
    And thats BS about it starting a new cycle..Different salts just have higher calcium or mag in them..Some are better then others in those areas IMO.

    I just switched, never had any problems. I did go through the salt cycle "thats where i worried for nothing lol"
