ok i have a 75 tall tank. i will b getting another 55 long tomarrow... now i want to take all my mates and live rock to switch them over to the 55...ill have roughly80 lbs of rock then... almost 2-1. how bad would this disrupt everything... i still have 2 anemone's couple stars and wel crabs n snails that will go over as well. i think my lighting would work wonders for the 55 much better then the 75 as well. just wondering if i use my water ifit will cause a recycle and hurt my anemone friends?

Hi Muffasathelion - as your down sizing, assuming you will be using all the equipment from your 75 and providing you can make the change over in a timely (not rushed) manner - then I can think of any major issues

if you have a deep sand bed in existing DT , that might cause some issues when you disturb it and move it and some would suggest starting with new sand or cleaning it thouraghly as you will have 20 gallons of excess existing water that you can use to clean things with before moving into new tank

i just started a move self from a 29 to 55 and things are going good for me. i think if u take it slow and make sure you have everything ready for the move you will be alright. i went with new live sand myself just to make sure you dont get into a mess later on down the road/ or just clean the sand u have really good. well good luck.
