kinda don't like the 90 degree optics on that! seems like ya won't get much par to the floor with that! and for $480 thinking ya can do better!

did ya get a thermometer and heater yet?

I can order different angles. What would you recommend? ? Won't 90 keep it stronger at the bottom(less spread?) Also I'm only paying 165 a fixture. :)

And yes I'm staying around 81.4 .. so come summer may have been an issue. Definitely don't need a heater lol

If you can get 60* that would be better than 90. 40* would be good if you buy 3 fixtures, you'd get the most PAR out of 40* optics.

Ok thanks. Ill check. Also the two 50w are enough for my tank rite? Would it be a huge dif. If I wait and go with 2 100w? Or would it be overkill or pointless on a 55g ? I have also read about acclimating your tank to new lights ..is this something I need to do? And how?

i'd go with at least the 60 degree optics and raise them up a bit! as far as overkill, if the lights are dimmable. may as well go overkill and then dim them down till you move to your bigger tank! that way youre not wasting money on a system that wont keep up!

how in the world is your tank that hot with no heater or MH's?

Hell if I know.. lol keep it at 72 in the house.. new house maybe its well insulated haha. I leave my sump light on.. maybe that has something to do with it.. and my t5s cover my tank on the top like a lid... the leds have no dimmers so ill stick with 50w how should I switch over? Just run them shorter time length and gradually up the time on?

These are going to be sitting rite on top of my tank.. maybe 3in over water .. don't wanna lose coverage think 90 may be better.. these only have 2 rows of bulbs so they aren't very wide..

well if your temp is 72 its 72, insulation will only matter in your heating bill! but no! you;ll need to acclimate your corals to there strength! i'm guessing your best option is to buy a hanging kit and slowly lower them!

May i politely suggest you read some newbie threads and basic led threads before you proceed! May save ya a ton of cash and the want for a better system! You may want to add a controller in the future that will control sunrise sunset and thunderstorms etc! doesn't sound like this will do it!

did ya buy a heater yet?

dude you need to slow down and read! reefing is about patience and you're gonna hate yourself for constantly wasting money instead of taking a few days to research! come on, you thought your tank was hot by touch with no thermometer! and it ended up being just fine! Relax man! read and save your fish and corals!
