and I was rite it was hot. Not to hot but enough to be concerned about come summer. And slow down?? I did read and what I found said to go with 90 not 60. As far as the 100w I'm not upgrading down the road to a bigger tank so no need for them.

Um.... good question .. what are you gonna do if your heat goes out?? Not like buying a heater for the tank will make any difference in that issue considering its powered by electricity ... unless they have some magical heater that runs without wall power.. and if they do I'm gonna say what 2% of people actually have them because I never heard or seen one..

dude its not an attack, i just feel not having a heater is very dangerous! There doesn't seem to be a real reason your tank is so hot, and it will cool when you get led's! Its just seems like a cheap safety net to avoid temperature swings! $30 to maybe save all the fish and corals doesn't seem unreasonable! I doubt you'd find anyone else on here without one!

I would pass on these LEDS if I were you. For one there are far too many spelling and grammatical mistakes on the site. I know this has nothing to do with the lights but if they don't care enough about to get that right, what are they doing with their lights? Then if you couple that with the fact that under description it says they are CREE LEDS then if you dlick on additional specs it says the LEDS are BRIDGELUX, that's a big difference, and which is it? Also, you'll notice they give no PAR readings or really any in depth technical data at all. Just seems like its not really all that great of a light or company for that matter. I think your money would best be spent elsewhere. However at the end of the day its your choice.

I do agree that a heater should be an investment before a light upgrade. Have you checked peak tank temp? I assume thats the 81 you stated? How about tank temp first thing in the morning when the lights have been off all night? The temp swing will be hard on livestock, the heater will help keep temps stable all day long.

I understand what your saying. Thanks for taking the time to look. A local Guy I guess sells for them that's getting me the deal. Ill ask him if he knows the par. Also I believe one fixture they sell has creed rest don't.. temp like I stated above stays at 80 in the am.. I leave my sump light on maybe that helps...my local coral dealer uses these lights over some of his tanks and says they are decent leds and would be an upgrade from what I have. Ill have to do some more digging around as well.

That's not a bad swing in twmp for no heater. If your tank stays that warm there must be something adding heat. What do you have for pumps/powerheads running on the system? That is the likely sourse of heat. Like you said it's not a big deal now, actually it helps, but some summer it may be a pain.

EDIT: Also brought this up because a malfunctioning pump/ph can put out excess heat. Which may be your source of heat.
