A good diy fixture would be better than a Radion, epecially the spectrum.

i have had one for a little over a year and i love it. ive had fantastic growth over the past year. although ive only recently gotten any acros. i got a red planet 2 months ago and am seeing growth on it and a green slimer a few months ago and its starting to split and branch but my other sps are growing very well i had a couple birds nests that both more than trippled in size and several diffrent montiporas (cap and digi) that grow like weeds. my green digi started this year as a 2 inch frag and now its got at least 20 branches and thats not including the several frags ive taken off of it. so yes it can grow coral. as far as color it depends on the coral. it makes some look better and some worse but thats not because of the fixture its true of most leds in general although id be interested to see if the new radion pro would change that since it has a few more colors to play with so you can create something closer to a true full spectrum.

I say go with it. I have one Radion G2 over my 60 gal cube and love it. I haven't have it for that long but love it. I mean, I had seen what this light can do up close and the spectrum, well, is up to you and what you like not what everyone else likes. I have to mention that I am amaze with what this light can do and then some. The radion can be program to almost any color that pleases your eyes.

i have a question for you... how did you acclamate your new livestock under the DIY LED's? do you know radion has a built in program for that?

Growing SPS should be no problem I don't think you'll be running the Radion at 100% since at 70% on must will be "bleaching" or "burning"

I will say, do what I did. Read about all the fixtures you like and see what other people that DO have the light you like have to say about them. But in the end is all you.

my radion has had to be replaced twice now, because the fan stops working on the unit and it over heats in 10-15 minutes on anything more powerful that 50%. luckily, the customer support is spot on and its no issue gettin a new light, but still. 2 replacements in 8 months, for the same issue?

i have had my radion a year now. it ramps up to 93% power and back down. its set for moonlight for a few hours than goes dark for 8 hours. so far i have been very happy with it and havent had any issues.

billielewis, wow i have to wonder whats up with that and also ask did they replace the whole unit or just the fan? sorry for your issues that would have me a bit annoyed. these lights arent cheap
