T-5 bulb help

That would work and give you great growth. Throwing in a Purple Plus would give you a bit more varied spectrum, make your reds pop, etc.

 

should i put the purple plus in place of one of the blue plus bulbs?

Look back at my first post, I would sandwich the Purple Plus as the #2 or #3 bulb.

 

That is an excellent combination with lots of light and growth potential.

 

Actually replace one of the Aquablue Specials

 

I've been enjoying
(2) Blue+
(1) Purple Plus
(1) KZ New Gen bulb.

I used to use the aquablue special and just recently swapped it out for the new gen bulb. I think I like the New Gen bulb a bit better. The color is just a tiny bit bluer, or less white but it doesn't look quite as washed out in my opinion. The overall tank looks a bit crisper with the KZ New Gen. You really can't go wrong either way, though they're both great.

 

My tank will eventually have 1 uvl 454, 1 uvl super actinic, 1 uvl actinic white, and 1 uvl 75.25. Still in the process of swapping them out...

(2) 54W - 48IN 12000K ATI Aquablue Special T5 HO Fluorescent Bulb

and i also ordered one purple plus to play around with.
