I fired some of my bulbs in my DIY hood. I mod'd the canopy and have ordered new bulb and plan to give a summary of all the new bulbs. Since I will have now owned about half the T-5 bulb I know of it should be a good comparsion. The contenders are:
    CoralVue 50/50
    CoralVue Antinic
    ATI Sun 6000K
    ATI Blue Plus
    Aquamedic Ocean White
    Aquamedic Ocean Blue
    Current Antinic

As soon as the new bulbs get here I will be posting some pics.

Covey, I don't know if you still have this data but sure would help. I bought the TEK 8bulb and would like to make sure i have the best bulb for it. Currently I am running the 4 Giesemann Aquablueplus, 2 Giesemann Actinic Plus and 2 Giesemann Pure Actinics. Just wondering your YHO!

I say go with just Aquablue and blue+. The 6500k might be a par king...but algae is never worth it! I believe that the Aquablue is 11000k so thats good with the blue+ actinics :) I think they are both Giesemann.

I never ran the GE's or Giesmann's 420 actinic. The Aquablue seem to be the defacto white bulb in t-5s. The URI bulbs are out now too. So if you ever had VHO or saw a tank that did that you liked the T-5 URI are suppose to be the spitting image of the VHO URI. Some people go ga-ga for URI antinic.

The aquamedic bulbs are also good too.

You have a good setup but you still have got room to play if you choose.

Now i feel as dumb as a sack of rocks. I did not know UV is URI. Thanks guys for the info.

Has anyone here used Giesemann T5-HO bulbs. I would think they are pretty good but could be wrong. Maybe i will us URI's when i need to start replacing the bulbs.
