    Any one have any information on where the best place to order this kind of fixture and I don't have a canopy. T5 6 x 54 48"

    Or should I go with 8 x 54 48' on a 75 gallon. I am starting my savings for it.

    I think six will be fine, you should be able to have almost anything under those lights providing proper placement is taken into consideration. 8 isn't overkill, but you will def. be able to keep anything. Depending on what fixture your looking at, Dr. Foster and Smith always have good price and shipping. They have a nice selection of T5 fixtures, that's where i bought mine.

    We went with 8 and everything in the tank is thriving...8)

    Thanks for the info so if I were to get 8 as my experience level grows I should be able to keep anything

    good choice, i got a tek t5 8 bulb on my 90....corals luv it.

    It depends on your tank. If you have a 55G tank, you're not going to be able to fit a 6-bulb fixture on it. I had the same issue when I had a 55. I bought the Aquactinics TX5, a 5-bulb T5 fixture. It fits on top of the 55 with room to spare.

    If you have a larger tank, consider a MH fixture. It's forward compatible with your next larger tank, and without a canopy (as do I), you don't need a chiller.
