T5 bulb combination - my head is spinning...

This is my current bulb combo, I only run 4 bulbs when taking pics, see below...If you're looking for the pastel look in my avatar, try the fiji purple. My fixture itself is a cheapo catalina 6x54w T5 fixture with bent polished aluminum reflector so it acts like individual. It has 3 workHorse5 balasts.

From front to back:
ATI Blue+
KZ Fiji Purple
UVL Super Actinic (off while taking pics)
ATI Blue+ (off while taking pics)
ATI Aqua Blue
ATI Blue +

 

Thanks for the suggestions! I think I will order 2 extra and experiment. When I upgraded from the 4 bulb to the 6 bulb T5, I couldn't remember the combination I ultimately used. I do remember using the Fiji Purple, though, and liking that. I remember it was way too blue with my first combination, which I how I ended up with 2 extra bulbs in the first place! I'll let you know what I order and what I ultimately decide to use.

 

Just remember that the fiji purple is a daylight bulb, so if you want a blue look, you will need to compensate for that.

 

now will the fiji purple act like 10k daylight but with a purple hue color for coral sake?

 

No it will be more like a blue bulb than a white bulb.

 

but i can still keep my softies and sps with out moving them

 

Yes no problem, just replace one bulb every 3 or 4 days.

I ordered 2 more ATI Blue Plus, 1 ATI Purple Plus, and 2 ATI Aquablue to go with the Giesemann Pure Actinic and ATI Blue Plus I already have. That will give me one extra, after I decide which combo I like. I'll post my final outcome.

 

This is the combination I went except for the change above in the bulb #2 slot. I love the look! It's a bit bluer than what I had, but I love blue ;D. The corals really look nice. I will save this combination for next time! Thanks to everybody who gave input.

 

I had this at one point and found it too pink when all lights were on
2 of the UVL super actinics with 2 of the UVL actinic whites

I now have this and once the indigo kicks on, it loses the blue for the most part.

I'm ordering new bulbs soon. I am wanting to try something along these lines quoted above, but my fixture is a 4-bulb.

My current setup is nice and crisp but it's not blue enough for me once the daylight bulb comes on. I don't know if this makes sense, but I want it to look darker than it is. Like a darker blue.

So taking the above, but adjusting for only 4 bulbs, how's this sound?

I very well may have confused which ones are actinic and which ones are daylight here :-/ I'm terrible with lights.
