T5 Bulb Combinations w/ Pictures

I'm gonna order Dr. Reefenstein's combo tomorrow for my AquaticLife fixture on my 29 gall. That's the best looking combo I've seen so far, very nice. I'll post before and after pics when I get the bulbs.

 

here's mine, running an Aquactinics TX5 5-bulb combo (front to back):

ATI Blue +
ATI AquaBlue
KZ Fiji Purple
ATI Blue +
ATI AquaBlue

 

Hey MoJo, your tank looks awesome. I am a bit confused as to what bulbs I need to get to get that look. I only have a four bulb system. I know you run ATI Blue +, ATI Aqua Blue and KZ Fiji Purple. I only need four bulbs. I have never used any of those brands. If you only had four bulbs what would you pick to get as close to the color you have now with the five bulbs?

 

I just ordered 1 ATI Aqua Blue Special, 2 Aqua Blue Plus, and 1 KZ Fiji Purple. Should be here in two days. Will post pics.

 

i want some ok lights for a ok price. i need something that fits a 55 gallon tank. i wont go higher then 300 though.

 

Thx, you got the combo I would have gotten if I was going with 4-bulbs, so you should be good. I would prob place them in this order:

Blue +
AquaBlue
Fiji Purple
Blue +

You can experiment with swapping the Fiji in the 2nd and 3rd slot & see which one you like better.

 

Look into the AquaticLife 48" 4-bulbs or TEK 48" 4-bulbs, both really nice fixtures. The Wavepoint 48" is also said to have really nice stock bulbs & reflectors, but doesn't have seperate cords so all bulbs run on one cord. It is priced the lowest, best bang for the buck.

The TEK will need mounting brackets though & bulbs which puts you over your $300 price point:

Not as blue as it sounds. Aquablues are white. I would add one Blue Plus, one Aquablue Special and one Fiji Purple or ATI purple plus.
