T5 Bulbs for a 55g ??

So I have Two Dual t5 fixtures (total of 4 bulbs) I bought these used and god knows how old these bulbs are so Im planning on picking up some new ones tomorrow. Im a fan of the clear crisp look but also a big fan of the blue look. How does this set up sound? 2 blue act. 1 aqua blue and one purple?? I plan on placing two blues together in one housing unit so i can just have those on in evening hours. Whats your guys thoughts on a good bulb combo??? As of rite now its just fish. once i get my tank going for a few more months im going to start with soft corals. Thanks!

 

I had a 55 gallon with a 4 bulb retro. ATI bulbs Two aqua blue specials, and two aqua blue plus. It had a very good blue look, but not to blue. I upgraded to 120 gallon 8 bulb retro three blue plus, three aquablue specials and two purple plus. I love the look. IMO you can't go wrong with ATI bulbs. Have also heard that UVL's, Geismans are also pretty good. There is a good thread with bulb colors and placement from i think guitarman. Take a read. Good luck.

 

Thanks for the input. I know i wanna throw a purple plus in the mix just not sure about the other three.

 

The zoo med bulbs are german made also and are affordable.I use the coral sun act420 and the ocean sun 10k its not so blue though.Just some input just in case you decide to go that way.

 

My suggestion for the combo would be from front to back aqua blue special, blue plus, purple plus, blue plus. Not too blue, not too white.
