I personally don't like the idea of true actinics, more than 1 anyway, they don't have very good PAR output and are more for bringing out certain colors.

I would probably do something like 3 blue plus, 2 aquablues and a pro color (or fiji purple), or just half blue plus and half aquablues.

    Hi Steve

a lot of this is down to personal taste - PAR , Is important, and as stated PAR is higher in the lamps that are whiter/ yellow, than they are in the blue

a ratio of 1 actinic to 1 daylight type - gives you the best of both worlds , decent par and eye popping colours

    but with 80 watt lamps - you could go 2 x 10k , 2 X 14k AND 2 X Actinic ( the 14 K have a little blueish tint)

or you could go any combination of above - even adding a lower K rating 6700 as these tubes put out more par (Thanks DrFragenstien for this information)

but of you went with your original 3 x 10k and 3 x actinic - you would be fine with that also

    Steve

I would do 3 Blue+, Fiji Purple and two Aquablue+, first and last being ATI....

Whoops, wow, without reading anyposts I recommended the same blend as screwtape...
    Guess great minds think alike!
