I was wondering if I could use two 36 inch NOVA Extremes over my 72 inch 125 gallon aquarium or if anyone had any other suggestions for T5 fixtures that I could use. I would like to go with T5 VHO'S

nava extrem fixtures have one big reflector over the bulbs, "bad". Tek light by Sunlight supply have one reflector per bulb,"good", lol. If you check out ReefGeek > Aquarium Supplies for Marine, Reef, and Saltwater Aquariums they have a nice selection of lights. They are alittle more than the nova fixtures, but well worth it. Lets put it this way, one 48" 6-8 bulb fixture will light my 60" 100 gallon enough for sps corals!!

Birchell - Why do you say one big reflector is bad?

Its not that its bad, its just that it is not as good as having one reflector per bulb. It produces more lighing into the tank instead of all over the fixture then into the tank.
Ronmichel1115, i have two 36" aquatinics t5 in my 72" 125 gal. tank. Each bulb has its own reflector, and i cant be more satisfied.

That sounds good. I have only 2 54W T-5 HO (1 atanic and one 11K) at 48" on my tank about 18'' deep. I was thinking about getting two more my corals are doing fine but they are not getting any bigger.

Hello ronmichel1115. I'm new to the site but I'm setting up a 75 reef tank.I went with a retro kit with a icecap 660 ballest that puts out 440 watts which I have it wired to 4 110watt VHO T5's. This will give me 5.9 watts per gallon.
Nice thing about the retro I can use almost and lenght bulbs. I think I paid around $330.oo for the ballest waterproof endcaps wire harness, and 4 bulbs. Well hopefully this helps you out. http://www.marinedepot.com

    Have a good one.
