I dont think thats with any bulbs, if it was thats the best deal in the world!

if you need to add bulbs probly add $25x6=$150+$313= $453.00

another thing with your MH idea, you may need to get a chiller too. $$

if your on a $260 dollar budget your options are limited.. at least if you went my route you would have qty (2) 4x54w bulb t5 fixtures (8 bulbs total = sps/clams all day)

but Tek is alot better quality.

yeah definitely not going with metal halide anymore. ill just go with 6-8 t5's. just trying to figure out the best bet. you're right it doesnt come with bulbs, the tek that is. and yes it'd be like $170 for the other bulbs so the retro kits are cheaper. the SLR's look decent, though i just read some bad reviews on the company that makes them. alot of positive review though too... i guess everyone has their goods and bads.

same with odyssea.. 50% like them, 50% hate them. nova brand is better though. if your tank is 16"+ width of sides, you will have enough room for both t5x4bulb fixtures to fit.

I only have a 13" width of sides on my 55.. but I managed to cram a 2x54w t5 and 4x65w pc with lunars on top.. its really tight though. :)
