T5 lighting and anemones

    Maybe someone here has a place for you ? I have a few guys I've met over the yrs in thsat area I'll ask them and if they do hve a good LFS I'll post it up for you..

    your long tentical is one of the easier anemones to keep!! t-5's are comparable to MH's so dont worry. im keeping sps under mine and they are holding there color great!! my bta anemone is in my nano under 2 pc lights and it is doing great. it is all about keeping them fead, and the water paramiters up...

    i have been using a PC light over my Sebae anemone for over two years. so yes you can operate less than metal halides or T5 over an anemone. he has gone from 3.5" diameter to at least 8"

    water quality is more important than lighting for most species of anemones i believe. when i started the hobby i lost 2 anemones due to water quality and lack of knowledge. also the addition of a clown fish seems to make him happy.

    + that!! when my purc found the bta, it seamed to get bigger. now it looks better than ever!!

    To answer the original question, once I got T5-HO lights, my long-tentacled anemone improved tremendously. Color went from bleached white with colored tips to a healthy brownish-greenish-purplish. Pictures are on 3-Reef.

    I currently have a Sebae anemone, who seems perfectly happy under my T5 lights.

    After my T5-HO purchase mr RBTA improved color and apperance greatly.
