T5 lighting help

I am just wondering what kind of bulbs to buy for my 75 gallon reef I need something powerful and that lasts a decent amount of time if you could give me suggestions on types to buy or even give me a link that would be greatly appreciated

http://www.3reef.com/forums/reef-lighting/t5s-q-54866.html Use this on this site. Great thread. T5HO and t5VHO difference is the ballast you use. Ice Cap ballasts over drive the bulbs by about 30%. As for the bulbs need to know what you are keeping and might add later. ATI, Geisemann and UVL are all excellent bulbs. Do you need to get a fixture?

 

I just replaced my T5s. I consulted Dr. Frag and the manager (son) of my trusted LFS and here is what I went with. You can use this as a starting point.
All bulbs are Geisemann Power Chrome;
2 Aqua Blue +
1 Pure Actinic
1 Actinic +

 

What type of fixture do you have? How many lamps do you have? What coral do you keep/plan to keep? Lastly what color do you like? More blue or more white?

A HO 4' T5 lamp draws ~54w, a VHO 4' lamp draws about 80w... Ice Cap makes a VHO ballast, I believe Hamilton still does and Coral Vue did at one point and still might.
