    Are you going to have a hood or do you need a fixture? If you have a hood make sure you check out the retro-fit kits (reefgeek.com has good prices on a variety of retros) that can save you some money over fixtures.

    Surfnturf.. where at in ky?
    I run 250w MH's with no heat issues.. I am in northestern kentucky.
    I havent seen many heat issues that couldnt be fixed by a fan unless you live in a very warm place. I had air conditioner issues this summer and my living room was 80. I had a small $7 fan over my sump and had no heat issues.

    cdeboard: I'm in northern kentucky, just across the river from Cincinnati. Do you know of any local reefing groups in kentucky? I haven't looked into it yet, but I'm assuming they probably don't exist.

    Actually I just googled Grayson and I'm about 3 hours away, so even if there was a reef group by you, it wouldn't really help me.
