t5 lighting...

    ok i just got a new t5 lighting system, i got the 4x54 watt ho lighting... 2 aquatic blue and 2 white... is it ok to leave the blue lights running over night or just shut them all off over night ?

    no :( i thought it did but when i picked it up 2day i noticed it didnt :(

    Bummer but you can always change your light cycle so that a couple of the lights stay on later. You will need a night time for your fish and coral though.

    i dont have any coral yet... but i will soon... but they want like $20 for 2 blue leds for the night time thing... lol

    There worth it if you find yourself sad every night when the lights go out cuz you have nothing left to look at. I made sure my new fixture had them before I ordered it.

    ok well thank u... o 1 more quick ?... i bought a saddle clown fish mating pair (already had a littler of babys) do they have mating seasons or do they mate year round or what?

    They will repeatedly mate once they get going.

    Well, until something in the water chemistry changes, or any other variable happens.


    Yeah, shut the actinics off after regualr viewing hours. A set of blue LEDS will allow you to watch the tank longer, but keep in mind it really does nothing for the tank. All that supposed talk of moonlights to trigger corals to spawn is pretty much bunk, because it does not happen with merely lights alone.
