T5 lighting

    Wondering if anyone can direct me in the right direction, i have a 55g tank and i am looking for a not so expensive but yet good quality t5 set up. tank is 48" in length and 22" deep looking to get some corals

    The quality in the bulbs, ballast and connectors and appearance is all the difference there is in a set up. A 4 x 54w setup would be fine for the 12" wide tank. Brand and quality is up to you depending on what you'd like to spend. Shop for used stuff on ReefCentral and your local craigslist for bargains.

    I would go with a 4 lamp Tek with ATI lamps....

    If money is an issue build a retro, or settle for the Current Nova extreme PRO,
    make sure you get the one with SLRs...

    BUT remember you get what you pay for with anything esp stuff for tanks, like lighting and skimmers!!
