Up until yesterday my 6 x 80 watt T5 canopy had the following combo
2 x Geisseman power chrome actinic plus 22k
    2 x Geisseman aqua blue - 14 K
    2 x Aquamedic reef white - 15 K

the Geisseman 14K tubes are brighter than the Aquamedic ones (canopy flipped sideways and viewed from across the room so its easier to see the difference)

last night after lights out, I swapped out 1 x Aquamedic and added an extra Geisseman power chrome actinic plus 22K

the tank has a nicer look today - a bit more blue
all corals except GSP are looking as good as they did yesterday in fact aesthetically some are looking nicer

GSP - as they are located at back of tank and thus under 2 x actinic and 1 x 14k ( as opposed to yesterday when they where directly under 1 actinic, 1x 14k and 1x 15k have only put out 70 - 80% of the polyps today

I have followed other threads and many experienced reefers have suggested a 1- 1 ratio of Actinic to whites - which is what I now have

will the GSP adjust to this new lighting scheme?

is the lighting scheme I have now,
    more beneficial?,
    less beneficial?
or "shut up Steve, it doesnt make a difference it was fine as it was, and its fine again now, why keep messing with differnet tubes"

    opinions please

Only jk :) but seriously I think it would be fine with both lighting schemes. Your corals will probably just need to adjust slightly to the bluer contrast, I don't think it will make a big difference in PAR...

Steve don't fret GSP will close sometimes for a day or two for no reason... Sometimes my close up at night, sometimes they don't. Sometimes they are closed when I get home sometimes they are open... Good chance they would've acted the same without changing the lamps...

So you like the look now? If so, keep it.. Or keep fooling around with lamps until you like the look...

Take care Steve and relax, it will all be alright!

    thanks Dr

I reckon you have a point- its more than likely a reaction to the change than any GSP opinion on the lighting

I have 4 colonies ( split 2 large ones when I purchased them) 3 are back to normal today
