I was wondering what everyones thoughts are for lighting.I used to run 2 175 watt mh on my 75 gal mixed reef before I sold it.Now I have another 75 gal and only doing sps and I have an 8x54 watt t5 fixture. At first when I set it up I was happy with it(only a month ago) but now I'm not so happy. The colors I used to have on some of the same corals is not the same.I'm thinking I want to go back to MH with t5/led supplement and to also simulate a 24 hr cycle.Every other reef tank I've had I used mh and it worked well for me.I just don't know if I'm completely sold on t5s.
    Thanks everyone for the help.

I think t5 can work, thats what I use and my SPS grow. I've never used MH, but from what I've heard they may work a little better.

I use 4 T5HO on my tank as stated and keep them 28" above the sand. I strongly suggest cutting back and raising your fixture up to 24" to 30" above the sand. If you go T5HO and LED cut back to 2 daylight T5HO and 2 LED strips with 470nm and 440nm diodes or 3 to 1 T5HO to LED strips.
