t5 vs Pc

    thanks guys , both tanks ive bought came Pc so ive not had T5s before though ive been cruising around looking for new lighting and i think ill go with the T5's now :) thanks a ton

    yeah not even a contest. I had both and T5s blow PCs away.

    thanks again guys i found what i needed at my LFS and got it cheaper than if i had gotten it online so win win :) it came with 2 atenic and 2 daylight lamps should i upgrade these and if so what do you guys recamend ?

    So let me ask.... My Coralife fixture has 2x96w PC. Reef Sparky looked into upgrading, but said it would not be worth it. So I could only fit 54w in. I would like to see if I could fit two on each side, probably not. What about overdriving with 660 balasts?

    So what would make it worth changing out 2x96w PC?

    For a 90? build a simple canopy and stuff in a 6 x 54W T5 retro with SLR's and quailty bulbs. You could over drive them, but only if you hate softies and some LPS and love buying new bulbs more frequently.

    What are SLRs. I've seen it before, but don't get it. single --- reflectors???

    T5 for sure, but I've seen alot of new LED fixtures coming out soon. If you can wait and afford LED's then do so, they're the next step in reef lighting.

    Its either lens or lamp reflector. For some reason i cant remember right this second....

    It's a bit fuzzy still, is T5 better than PC? I still don't know. :)
