looking for replacement bulbs for my oydessea 2x54w t5 fixture.. I noticed there our 46" and 48" t5h0 bulbs out there.. whats the difference? do some 48" fixtures use 46" bulbs?

if I measure my existing bulbs do I include the end of pins/connectors too?

if my unit uses 48"? what brands use 46"?

    thanks

I think they call them 48" lamps because they fit in a 48" fixture and the bulbs themselves are 46". I have 6' VHO's over my 6' tank and I have extra wiggle room in my canopy from side to side. 1 way to know for sure is to just measure your old bulbs.

Yup all 48" fixtures use 46"bulbs. They will usually call them 48" bulbs, but if you look at the actual dimensions they will be 46".
