I currently have two 30" fixtures on my reef tank containing the following bulbs:

    1 T5 HO 10,000K 31W
    1 T5 Actinic 31W
    2 T5 HO 12,000k 24W
    2 T5 HO Actinic 24W

I have had sps corals in the tank for a month or two and they have been doing fine. I just recently purchased some ora red planet and some other high end acropora frags..

Someone told me to replace the actinics in my setup to ati blue plus bulbs but they dont make them in 30".

So my question is... is my lighting OK now for my sps corals or should I upgrade?

If so.. what should I upgrade to because I havent found too many options with a 30" fixture.

Please post a link of where to buy the bulbs to replace the actinics with.. if thats what i have to do..

If you think they will be fine also.. please let me know so i can avoid the headache of looking for new bulbs

    Thanks

    just checking I have understood

is the tank 30 inches and you have 6 tubes from front to back (and its not a 60 inch tank with 2 x 30 inch fixtures side by side?)

if you have 6 lamps in total
    1 x 10k
    2 x 12k
    3 x actinics

    if thats correct
IME - your going to be fine with SPS in terms of their lighting needs

yea we have a 30 inch tank its 40 gallons and there is 6 total tubes.. and thats what our lighting is.. you think thats alright for sure?

I think the only company that makes 30 inch bulbs is coralife.. I cant find any others

is 1 fixture a 2 lamp 31 watt - which I agree, I have looked and there are not many options

and the other fixture is a 4 lamp 24 watt ?

because the good news is that ATI, Geisseman and UVL plus others
have tubes in 24 watt sizes

yes you are correct .. but they may have the correct wattage .. i couldnt find any 30" tubes..

however if you think the lighting is good enough then ill just stick with it.. but I guess ill need new tubes in the future so I gotta eventually find 30" 24 watt tubes

If the two fixtures are 30", and you stated you have six bulbs, is that one fixture with 4 bulbs and another with 2 bulbs? if your tank is 30" also, six t5 ho's will be sufficient.

That is more than sufficient. You should get good color and decent growth from the setup.
