T5HO Supplementation - 150G

I am working on a 150 Gallon DT in my new home. I will be lighting primarily with AI Sol White units. I want to supplement for color enhancement. The tank dimensions will be 60 x 24 x 24. Would one Purple Plus 54W and on True Actinic 03 lamp be sufficient for that size, or would I need to boost it up to a 4x54W setup? Thanks 2in10.

 

I'd go with the 4 lamp unit. the T-5 Actinics don't really show up well. Ever thought of using the VHO Actinics? You would only need 2 of those, and they show color better than a T-5.

 

Not really going for actinic supplementation...more so the Purple Plus is my question. I have enough actinic control with the AI Sol units. I added the actinic lamp instead of a Blue Plus due to the fact that I will have enough white lighting.

 

I would test it out to see how it looks with 2 or 4 bulb supplementation. 2 Purple Plus may make your tank look a little red.

 

Well I don't want to spend extra on lighting that I would not need if I don't have too. I was also thinking 2 PP lamps would make it a bit red. I'll plan for 2 and see if that's good. Thanks.

 

i agreee...i like vho colors better IMO.. colors seem to pop more under vho, maybe i just like the purple tint over the blue tint
