t5s on a 90

im wondering how many t5s i would need on a 90 gallon to keep almost any corals?

 

I am guessing 6 bulb if you want to keep any corals. I could be wrong though

 

A six bulb will be more than enough if you want to keep SPS. Unless you want to keep them on the bottom then an 8 bulb will do the trick. But yes you will be fine with a 6 bulb fixture as long as you have quality bulbs.

 

6 quality bulbs and a quality fixture with individual reflectors.

 

4 bulbs using top of the line bulbs and a quality fixture or retrofit kit.

 

I like to be different.;D:

I have 4 on my 75. Your tank is 4 inches taller than mine. I have my bulbs 9" above the tank, 28" inches above the sand.

 

I gotta say..its in the bulb....once you start running T5...and you try different brands/prices...you will see the difference quickly....I run 6 on a 90 gallon...more than enough. I move stuff around until I find the sweet spot. : ) If need be.
