ok here is a pick of the setup know. I relaced the inner 10000k with the new 12000k although its not as bright as the 10000k (at least to my eyes) the tank has a purplish look to it now. I leave it like this and see how the corals do.

Thats the weird part it only reads actinic white on the bulb. Ive been trying to see if the numbers on the bulb match to anything.

Well I just got of the phone with uvl, had a very good conversation about reefs with him, He did say that is the way the bulb should look, he also pointed out that its one of those bulbs that people either love or hate. The reason it gives of a pinkish glow is because of the phosbans in it.
he also said they have a new bulb coming put in march called they indigo that will have a bluish tint to it.

No they didn't send you the wrong bulb, I have one of those, and it is no longer in my fixture. It does have a pinkish tint. Frag is right about Geismann, it has more of a blue tint. I hate the UVL 12k.. I like ATI bulbs.. they have more par output than UVL and Geisemann. You can get them on Reefgeek.com.. awesome company.

the 15k by G-mann has a great blue look to it, just switched over and it is a great bulb. I would hate that pink color...quick return.

I just checked out my White actinic bulbs and I guess they do have a violet/pink hue to them, I never noticed it before. I guess because I had nothing to compare them to.

the 10k current bulbs that I just got rid of had a horrible yellowish/pink look. the only thing worse was the temp light, after my light blow out. Which was a 10k PC. SOOOOOOO ugly

yeah I think I'll keep this in and see how it does, it's better then the current 10000k that was in there. I have noticed a color improvement(visual not growth) on my corals though.

Look on Marine Depot, you have the one with the blue end cap, looks like the UVL 12k actinic white bulb.
