    i ran out of io salt so i used mortons table salt.i figure if its good enough for me then the fish will love it.you think i'll need to add some baking soda and some bleach to sterylize it?maybe some calcium and such?i hope so.is it normal for my coral to glow in the dark?

    ziggy...did you bump your head? table salt??? if you do the iodized salt, you'll overdose your tank with iodine, too high amount in table salt, I would think. not sure what using it will do, but I'm sure it's not good

    I think he may be joking, with the whole glow in the dark coral thing. As I'm sure many people here know, ocean water is much more than just salt. It contains critical trace elements and minerals that living organisms need to survive. You might be able to use it in an emergency, as long as it's not for too long and don't use too much compared to the volume of the tank

    but why risk it when you can just run to a lfs and buy a small bag of it

    Please say it aint so, That stuff is a lot different I would think! I know it has Iodine, I just hope it aint so.

    TABLE SALT ???? EHHHH'''' LOL I THINK I'D RATHER TRY THROWING A GRANADE IN MY TANK AND SEE IF IT SURRVIVES THE BLAST./LOL
