    Yup, wait for the normal salt and increase the salinity with top off water so that you don't increase it too fast. Having that level won't harm your fish. +1 on the bacteria in a bottle products - good in a pinch, but not recommended. What size is the system and how big is that rock :p GL with the whole situation.

    I have seen the product called "turbo start" used in several tanks with great success. Iv'e seen this used in aquariums in businesses where business owners don't want the ugly tank in their office cycling so turbo start was used. It works great. It seeds the live rock and usually has the tank producing nitrates (the last stage) in a few days.

    Thanks for the info. The bank account is not much of a problem, but I refuse to but the products here in Trinidad. It's more economical to get it online but it just takes forever to get here. I'll let he tank properly cycle properly on it's own then. The research is an ongoing process. I learn something new each day.

    It's 50 gallon tank and about a 5 gallon sump
    The rock could possibly be about 8-10 pounds
