I have had this tailspot for a couple of months and he has always competed for food with the clown goby and royal gramma with no issues. I usually just feed reef caviar and all the other fish have became very robust due to its high fat and protein content. However the tail spot is terribly skinny, and I just realized he has been catching a bunch of food and then sitting with it for a few minutes and spitting it back out. Reef caviar is quite small but I tried something smaller, nutramar ova and he ate a few pieces but same result spitting it back out in a little while. Any ideas how to save him?

Thank you Mr. Bill, I know that it does state that however from all the research I had done prior to purchase everyone that owned them said they eat brine and mysis and pretty much any other foods that they put in their tanks. My tank does have some small patches of hair algae and did have some film algae also but still has not maintained his weight, also I have tried feeding herbivore pellets and he showed no interest.

    algae flakes

I would try Herbivorous flakes, I feed my tailspot a pinch of these once a day and he eats mysis shrimp when I feed them to my corals. He also picks algae off of everything.
