    Every tank is different, diatoms usually have a short bloom until most silicates are used up. They are readily eaten by most herbivores unlike cyano and green hair algae to name a couple.

    Glad your tank is progressing as it should. It’s hard to tell – but did you stack the rock on top of the sand? Your middle picture gives me the impression that you might have, if so please get in there and fix that so you do not have a rock tumbling experience down the road. No one wants to see those rocks sitting on your floor.

    I look forward to seeing the pictures of your tank as it developes.

    yea i had that problem with the rock in my freshwater. i had to learn it the hard way.
