Will adding purple up for my coraline growth affect the diatoms?

I think the first order of business should be to start a cycle by the addition of something that will produce ammonia. ie. uncooked shrimp, or a fish

P.S. leave the purple up until the tank stabilizes

Just wanted to give an update on my Diatom issue, or non issue. It's been close to my third week of having my tank up and running, and my diatioms are starting to go away. I will wait a few more day to see it continues to go down. Can anyone tell me what's my tanks next phase after my diatoms are under control? should I buy a Detritus and green crew or a mix of both? I am trying to taking it slow, so any advise is appreciated, thanks. Here is a before and after photo of my Diatom issue, hope this helps someone.
