My snails do not touch this stuff. I need more horsepower before it gets out of control. Removing the rocks to take it off is, as you know a very, very last resort. Thanks for the help. Had not thought about the sailfin and a Tang would definitely be a nice addition. If we do add, only one fish. This slow process is actually a good solution.

Do not mean to wander off, but the evil eye is telling me to sit down and eat dinner.

Maybe you dont have the right snails. Turbos and other snails do eat it.

Possibly not. We do have two enormous turbos. They started out about the size of a pee and are now easily a 50 cent piece. They move the rocks but do not eat this green stuff. We also have a lot of Nerite, Nassarius and Cerith but most prefer the sand and glass. Might be feeding too much fish food. Your Yellow Tang seems like a solution. I had been considering a Powder Brown but I keep reading they are fragile. However, I did read that the Six Line can only be one to a tank and here we are with a second (at least original male) spawning pair.

This forum is so great as people like you actually respond to questions.
    Thank you

LOL, been there, done that. I had to buy a new home to accomodate our exotic birds. A new, larger tank is probably not an option. Thanks for sharing the size issue. Looks like back to the Tang option.

Turbos do eat macro algae but they only have the lawnmower-like teeth and won't eat anything over the length of 1/2-3/4 of an inch. I would recommend a sailfin tang or a Yellow Tang (My preference is yellow because of its color). I have also heard that algae blennies are good lawnmowers but I owned one but it only picked at rock, not the long hair algae. In order to save the corals lives I had to take a tooth brush and clean my corals killing my bright green fox :(. Moral of story, get rid of the macro before you lose some corals.

The second pic is snail eggs. They lay them all over the glass, scattered in those little sack like bubbles.

That is what I thought, thanks for confirming. Now, I need to figure out which snail is gonna hopefully hatch from them.
