Taking pics - what do you guys use?

OK, I have been getting very frustrated with my close up shots. I need a macro lens?

 

I found the 100mm Marco too long. I've been told for tank photos a 60mm Marco would work well.
See if you can test a lens before you buy

 

I almost forgot about that fish! Has it gotten much bigger than when you first got it?

 

Does your camera allow you to attach other lenses to it?

 

Do pictures have to be fish/reef related?

Yes, D200 is a digital camera. Macro lenses are the way to go for close up shots, the higher the number, the better like 50mm vs. 100mm. 100mm will let you take much closer shots with the same distance.

I'm not familiar enough with that camera to know if you can screw a macro lens onto it?

 

depending on how close you want get and what you are shooting for macros.... i would say for fish a std 18-55mm lens should be fine. but for corals etc(stuff that wont swim away) you could get a macro for.

 

That picture and frogfish(?) are amazing! You can see two faces in that pic. You need to enter that on Dr's F&S! You'd win for sure!
