Tampa bay is aquacultured. Fiji rock comes from the ocean. IMO the clear advantage goes to Tampa Bay rock. Because they control the live rock growing your are probably more likely to receive better rock and less likely to get bad hitchhikers. From looking at there web site it also looks like its cheaper and they seed it with some corals.

Please do not harvest your own rocks from florida. You will be looking at very hefty fines and possibly jail time for it. We take our rocks seriously here. I believe he is talking about tampabaysaltwater.com. The owner of the store leases an area from the state, he then brings rocks into the ocean and takes them out when they are cured.

I have some rocks from there, they are awesome. They are simply loaded with live. The rocks I got didn't have a lot of coraline, but one rock was completely covered in barnacles there was at least 20 of them (mantis shrimp ate them), tons of sponges, small feather dusters, different types of algaes, corals, clams, etc.

Tampa bay rock comes from the ocean too, however it was placed there years ago by the person who collects it. You can still get bad hitch hikers. You can get mantis shrimp, gorilla crabs and stone crabs. You can also get an octopus though! ;D

I would take tampa rock over Fiji anyday. It is cheaper and better IMO
