    Hey everyone!

I'm setting up a 100 gallon reef aquarium and am thinking about buying the "package" from Tampa Bay Salt Water (lots of pictures to come!).

Does anyone have any knowledge of them? It's a big purchase and I'd love some feedback before I go ahead with it.

Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks!

i like the idea of shipping their rock in water.nobody else does that.your going to have way more life, including hitch hikers so you'll need to inspect it well.i've been all over their site and thought about ordering some many times.

Wow I just spent about 1hr or so watching the movie they have and reading their forums. Thanks ..... lol Very interesting. I think I would buy from them. However, It doesn't seem fisable to me sense I can go to my lFS and get some really cool live rock as well.

High quality L/R is never shipped packed in water just damp newspaper and plastic bags.. Its your money and tank.. Good luck But I'd lay the new L/R out on a plastic sheet for a few hrs to allow anything in the rocks to crawl out and off.

The Term Live Rock is such a misnomer and its confusing to many. Then over time these L/R suppliers sponsored a few authors and they preached Bio Diversity of L/R and then the Berlin and it just opened the door for the Suppliers to sell it for what was on the rock that was going to die off anyways. Not to mention what was in it that would not die off and maybe would eat the tanks animals one at a time.
I myself have used it but it was just to run several smaller systems to see the results compared to system Ii ran using base rock.. The base rocks in the long run gave me less problematic systems just as healthy and as much bio diversity arrived at from what larva and spores came in from the seeding of the dead systems with a good sand and rubble bio charge from an older tank. Even My Berlins ran just as well and I never had any killer pest or disease or algaes to contend with..
It was all started for the reason you could add water and L/R and fish and corals that same day of the set up..

Does this place have a location in Tampa or is it online only? If it does, I'd like to check it out, I do live here ;)
