Well about a week ago I received a beautiful Orange Stripe Bristletooth tang from a friend that was doing a tank transfer and unfortunately had to part with this fish. Its a great fish shown some aggression towards my lawnmower blenny and thats it. Well I was at a LFS today and they had the best looking specimen of a Mimic Elibi Tang that I have ever seen that includes online as well. I had to have this fish, so brought him home acclimated and added him. The orange stripe immediately harassed, chased, and nipped at him. I ended up netting the Mimic out and putting him in my fuge. So my game plan is trapping the orange stripe out of my main DT and putting him in the fuge and swapping the mimic out of the fuge and putting it in the DT. I'm hoping after a week or so of the orange strip being in fuge/prison with my bi color blenny who has a life sentence and reintroducing him after that week or so, that he might calm down? I would like all your guys opinions on my game plan and any other ideas would be awesome.

It's going to be very hard to get 2 tangs to peacefully coexist in 75 gallons. But the time out and lots of lights out may help. Also make sure there is enough seaweed in there.

    Good luck!

It can be done, However will not be easy.. Rearrange the bristletooths territory, and add the other tang back. Or If the Tangs not to hard to catch in the DT, rearrange the whole tank and add them back in at the same time. The territory change is going to be the best bet if they are going to exist together.

But only time can tell. Some tangs just wont play "nice"

Tangs are kind of hyper fish and they get big so even 1 can be a lot for a 75. Two usually don't work out that well in that sized tank, at least long term.

Thanks for the quick replys all. Yeah I think I'm going to trap out the Orange Stripe and keep him the fuge for a couple of weeks. Then will add him back to the DT in the fish trap and if showing any signs of agression through the trap, then a decsion will be made on which tang to keep

Yeah upgrading stresses me out! Pulling out around 60 corals which a good 20 of them are encrusted on rocks. Thats not a fun day for me :-/
