I just got a small/medium powder blue tang lastnight, after releasing it in the tank, my xlarge yellow tang didn't take well to it as the powder blue went right to his spot, after alot of chasing and the powder blue finally foudn the right side of the tank and was alright today once nad awhile the yellow tang would come over to chase him but nothing like lastnight, just now as i just got home, i think the yellow tang finally got him with one of the barbs on his back fin, the power blue isn't swimming still breathing, i found the powder back on the left side have no clue why he would go back to where he wasn't welcomed, i netted hima nd moved him back to his corner on the right side, as i tried to net him he did swim for a bit but then stopped, anything i can do at this pt?? is he in shock?? or is he not going to make it??? now i have a blue hippo slightly larger than the powder and he had no issue swimming by the new powder.

I dont recommend "netting" any fish unless hes leaving for good. Your just adding to the stress. Next time you add another same family fish, try this. Acclimate the fish like usual, but release him at night when everyone is asleep.

Not sure what's wrong with him, but I'd recommend placing a piece of egg crate in the tank to divide it up, put one on one side and one on the other to allow them to slowly get used to each other.

If you think its an emergency, turn off the lights now. That might help to de-fuse the problem.

i just used the net to push him along to the other side, i don't think he will make its breathing is slowed to almost nothing, and he is upside down. looks like the yellow tang took a nip at his one fin.that may have done it, what does that barb do on the back of the yellow tang do, is it just to jab who is is attacking?? or does it also release something into what it stabs??

If he doesn't pull through, and you want another powder blue, liveaquaria.com has them on sale now, I just noticed yesterday. Good luck to your PBTang.
