I was talking to my local lfs and he told me tangs cannot be mixed together. However I have seen many videos of tanks with different kinds of tangs together.

I will probably be putting a couple of tangs in my tank.

Sometimes tangs will do well together in bigger tanks, but to be safe I would add tangs that look different from each other. How big is your tank?

The general rule is do not put tangs of similar body shape together in a tank. You can add more than one of the same species if they are added at the same time.

Tank is a 110g i was thinking a regal and maybe a yellow tang. I really want a powder blue but these seem hard to keep alive due to ich.

Also was looking at a sailfin but I was told these get big

Do them in 3's and make sure to add the most aggressive last if you are not going to add them at the same time.

I have a Powder Brown Tang, Yellow Tang, and a Blue Tang.

    No issues whatsoever.

I would list the Powder Blue as the most aggressive, then the yellow, the sailfin and the regal are the 2 that I would say are the least aggressive.

A friend of mine has a Regal, Yellow. Sailfin, and Naso in the same tank with no problems at all.

Most online suppliers list the Powder Blue as the most aggressive.

I added my yellow and kole tang at the same time, and have had zero problems. They are actually swimming buddies.

of all the ones I have had (Purple, yellow, tomini, Powder brown, Naso, Sohal and Mimics) the Yellow and purple's have been my problem children. I do plan to add in a powder blue in with my sohal and Naso here soon...
