I got an OS tang a few days ago. He is doing really well. Swimming a lot, grazing, and eating. He hasent taken to nori yet or any veggies I put in the clip. Anyway, I was watiching him today for a little while and noticed that he would graze for a little while then go to the side of the tank and crap quite a bit, lookin like little white balls, and repeat. Is this pretty normal. I've done a lot of searching about it and have just found that tangs are "pooping machines".

yes tangs are crapping machines, equivalent of plecos in fresh water.

one thing tho when my tang always had brown crap, i would look into the white crap thing, it may be a parasite or something. idk

aside from little white balls, everything else sounds normal to me

IME fish poop should be long thin cylinder shaped and a green or brown colour ( more vegies = green)

I am not 100% certain but white poop I believe indicates a digestive problem, and that might be related to diet - what are you feeding it? if it wont feed from the clip., try adding a smear of garlic extract to the veggie in the clip as this may enduce a feed responce

if this does not work, try a dry food that is high in vegatable matter

Well, I took a closer look. From far it looks white but up close it is a little white with brownish tint. Hes been grazing on red coraline a lot. I've been trying a few things with him. He doesnt like the flakes So i'm gonna go get something else to try for that. He loves the frozen food. Its the frozen cubes that have brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, spiralena, romaine lettuce, algae and some other stuff. I did try the garlic thing, but still didnt eat off the clip. I think hes scared of it. I have been keeping it in the tank for him to get used to it. I'll keep a close eye on it and keep posting.

OK its been about 2 min and he crapped again. It isnt balls, and it is mostly green/brown with some white in it.
Never had a tang and it kind of caught me off guard. I heard there pooping machines but I wasnt expecting it to be this much.
