Yeah, my yellow tang is eating my xenia and from what i know, arent tangs reef safe? What should i try to do to prevent him from eating the entire colony? He's in a 150 gallon tank with plenty of space and food. Why do i have to have the one tang that eats xenia:confused:

    thnx

Tangs eating corals is not totally unheard of. Tangster once had a purple tang that had a taste for clam mantles so you never know. The only solution, I'm afraid, is to remove the tang or the xenia.

I'd look to see if its not pecking algae or hidden food in among the polyps . But if it is eating the Xenia's I know people who'd buy that tang from you. :)

I had a Tang that would eat Xenia like it was candy.

Wish I still had him I got some xenia on a frag a few weeks ago, now I have to pick the stuff off by hand :)
